Personnel and tasks

Scientific leaders are prof. A.M. Tsypouk on behalf of Petrozavodsk University and prof. P. Harstela on behalf of the University of Joensuu.
The Karelian side provides the Russian equipment and The Finnish side is respon-sible for providing of the Finnish equipment. Prof. Tsypouk is respon-sible for the technical coordination of the studies.
All expenditures for the delivery and maintenance of the equipment during the field works are included in the expenditure estimate if the subproject.

The scientific personnel from the Finnish side and their tasks:
- Pertti Harstela, professor. D.Sc. (UJ), works as the administrative leader of the project and con-sul-tant in the change of Finnish expertise to the Model Area.
- Researcher will be hired later to work as consultant and cooperator in the change of Finnish expertise, in the arrangement of field experiments and in analys-ing and reporting the results. He also works as a project secretary.
- Two under-graduate students
The scientific personnel from Karelia and their tasks:
- Tsypouk Alezandre M., professor, Doctor of Technical Sciences (PSU). In coopera-tion with prof. Harstela, he is planning the mainworks and expenditure estimates of the subproject, is in charge of enlisting Russian organisations and experts in the subproject, is responsible for the coordination of the field works, is responsible for the reports of the subproject and is providing the coordination of the subproject with the other ones. He is personally taking part as the Chief of the first task of the subproject and as a scientific worker in the item "The tests of progressive Finnish and Russian methods of silviculture" in the second task.
- Sokolov Alexander I., Candidate of Agricultural Sciences (CAS), Senior Scientific Worker (SSW) in FI. works as the chief of the second task.
- Siounev Vladimir S., Candidate of Technical Sciences (CTS), Docent in PSU, works as the chief of the third task.
- Egipty Analoly E., CTS, Docent in PSU, works as the chief of the fourth task and as the scientific worker in the second task.
- Demin Konstantin K., Deputy Director of KITI, works as the scientific worker in the third direction.
- Shegelman Ilya R., CTS, SSW in KITI, works as the scientific worker in the first and third tasks.
- Sincevich Sergei M., CAS,SSW in FI, works as the scientific worker in second and third tasks.
- Kulikov Michael I., CTS, Docent in PSU, works as the scientific worker in second and third tasks.
- Potter Albert A., CTS, Docent in PSU, works as the scientific worker in fourth task.
- About 10 people, inhabitants of Matrosy settlement will be hired to works as field workers and about 30 students from the Petrozavodsks University.
