Within the framework of the international project " Taiga - model forest " together with the employees of Forest institute of Karelian Research Centre of RSA during a season of 1998 was established a number of training-experienced areas on artificial reforestation of clear cutting sites. On the basis of the regional recommendations for creation of forest cultures and technical support of the Finnish experts some variants of experience distinguished by density of cultures, way of soil preparation and forest culture area were incorporated. Besides were used seedlings as with opened, and closed root system. In a result seven variants of training-experienced wood cultures on the total area 6.60 hà, namely are established:

    1. Spring plantings of a pine with preliminary preparation of soil by ground cover destroyer (PDN-2);
    2. Spring plantings of a pine by biogroups, without preliminary preparation of soil;
    3. Autumn plantings of a pine without preliminary preparation of soil with use holemaker machine (L-2U);
    4. Autumn plantings of a pine without preliminary preparation of soil manually with use of a landing pipe;
    5. Autumn plantings of a pine without preliminary preparation of soil manually with use of a landing pipe by biogroups;
    6. Cultures of a fir-tree created as a result of reconstruction unvaluable deciduous young stand;
    7. A control site.

On all experienced areas the sample plots for realization of the accounts in wood cultures were established, where in spring plantings in current year the survival of cultures was counted up. On a control site the account of amount and frequency of natural regeneration by species on square platforms by the area 5 m2 was carried out.
