MSc Forestry and Environmental Engineering
Aim of project is to offer a unique cross-cultural study program for qualified
students: to develop and provide joint Finnish Russian study modules and finally
a whole international MSc degree programme in Forestry and Environmental Engineering
to global educational markets. The project enhances co-operation, better utilization
of expertise and educational resources, high quality and implementation of Bologna
process in both sides of the border. The programme provides students with Northern
and European dimension in forestry; and background to identify and solve problems
related to forestry and environment

Intensification of Forest Management and Improvement of Wood Harvesting in
Northwest Russia
This project produces research based information on the development of forest
sector in Russia. Focus is upon Northwest Russia, in particular related to
forest policy, silviculture, wood procurement and use of forest resources.

Finnish-Russian development programme on sustainable forest management and
conservation of biological diversity in Northwest Russia
Objectives of the Programme: The existence of internationally credible nature
conservation areas network and environmentally sound forestry practices form
prerequisites for sustainable future of forestry in the whole world. The main
aim of this Programme is to contribute to a balanced development of the
forestry sector as well as encourage conservation of biodiversity in NW Russia.
One of the objectives of this bilateral co-operation is also to facilitate and
promote international dialogue on needs and possibilities for sustainable
forestry and nature protection in NW Russia. Co-operation naturally includes a
comprehensive examination of issues related to cultural heritage, economic and
social questions.
